For more than a decade, Dr. Lockhart has been a valued leader at Sutter Health. A board-certified anesthesiologist, Dr. Lockhart first served as chief administrative officer at the St. Luke’s campus of Sutter Health’s California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Since then, he’s held several executive positions before being named chief medical officer for the not-for-profit system in 2015. A Rhodes Scholar, Dr. Lockhart earned a Master of Philosophy degree in economics from Oxford University and Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy in biostatistics degrees from Cornell University.
In April 2017, Dr. Lockhart was appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Committee on Precision Medicine by California Governor Jerry Brown. This committee seeks to use advanced computing and technology to better understand, treat and prevent disease.
